Dr. Agabian has an interest in  anaerobic digesters with a focus on the underlying biological process of microbial methane generation and the development of equipment that optimized these processes in the conversion of organic waste to methane and electricity. She brings her leadership expertise and global experience to further the objectives of using sustainable and renewable energy to advance economic and societal change. 

Dr. Agabian has worked in both the academic and business arenas. As Professor and Director of Research for Global Health and former Director of the Naval Biosciences laboratories at the University of California, Dr. Agabian led fundamental research programs in understanding infective processes ranging from HIV to tropical parasitic diseases.  Her studies were focused on translating basic research findings into operational applications in the field. She holds several diagnostic patents.
